CDOT & State Patrol Increase DUI Enforcement with Spring Program

The Colorado Department of Transportation, the Colorado State Patrol and local law enforcement agencies have launched heightened enforcement to prevent impaired driving with the warm weather approaching any day now.

The Heat Is On program runs through May 15 — one of a dozen periods throughout the year in which authorities set up sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols and other measures to discourage people from driving impaired. CDOT also uses federal money to do community outreach to reinforce the safe driving message. At Coors Field, DUI awareness posters will be posted in restrooms and public service announcements in both English and Spanish featuring Rockies players will air on the Jumbotron before games.

Last year, the campaign arrested 1,870 impaired drivers statewide, marking two straight years of increased numbers. This year the numbers will be high again - so please drive carefully and not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If you are arrested, contact The Orr Law Firm immediately at 303.818.2448 for a free consultation. Time is of the essence in your DUI defense so it is not something to put off until next week. We have experience with thousands of cases and we will work hard to get you the outcome you desire.
