Alcohol Suspected In Early Morning Fatal Car Crash In Aurora

Alcohol is suspected as a factor in a car crash that claimed the life of a 41-year-old man. Investigators say the victim's car was hit by another car at East Iliff Avenue and South Quebec Street early Tuesday morning in Aurora. CSP says a sedan crossed over a median while traveling westbound on East Iliff Avenue at South Quebec Street and slammed head-on into another vehicle around midnight.

A 22-year-old man faces several charges for the crash, including DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. He was arrested after running from the scene and booked into the Arapahoe County Jail. Four other people were in the defendantbs car but didn't suffer life-threatening injuries.

The defendant has a criminal history dating to 2011 that includes arrests for disorderly conduct, assault, shoplifting, felony robbery, trespassing, obstructing police, and drug possession, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. He is being held on a $50,000 bond and is due in court at 9:30 a.m.Tuesday.

In Colorado, the drunk driver who caused this homicide faces up to 24 years in prison, not including his previous offenses, which will surely escalate the punishment. He needs to hire a Colorado DUI attorney like The Orr Law Firm as soon as possible to mitigate this punishment.
