Colorado Springs Driver Suspected of DUI after Plowing into Construction Site, Workers

A man who drove a pickup truck through a construction site and injured two road workers Wednesday is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol, Colorado Springs police say.

A 61-year-old man allegedly struck a construction truck parked near Austin Bluffs Parkway and Meadow Lane, causing both trucks to slide into the workers who were near a manhole in the road, authorities said.

Colorado Springs police said the two workers were transported to a local hospital but suffered no serious injuries from the traffic crash, which happened near the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
