A hit-and-run in Denver last Friday, January 30, left two pedestrians severely wounded, with the driver allegedly responsible still at large.

Local news affiliate CBS Denver 4 reports that at around 2:40 a.m. that Friday morning, a group of teenagers crossing the street at South Colorado Boulevard and East Iliff Avenue were struck by a car. The driver promptly fled the scene of the accident, leaving two of the hit pedestrians severely injured. When officers responded to the scene, they rushed the two injured teens to a nearby hospital while closing both directions of Colorado Boulevard for an investigation. The street was was subsequently reopened after 4 a.m.

While both injured teens were initially hospitalized, one was treated and released that day. The second remained in the hospital, his condition not disclosed, but is reportedly "expected to be fine," according to FOX 31 Denver.

Police are asking eyewitnesses with any information to come forward. Thus far, investigators believe that the suspect was driving a dark or charcoal grey Chevy or Ford pickup truck, circa 2000. The vehicle may also have front-end damage and a damaged, or missing, headlight.

Vehicular assault and leaving the scene of bodily injury are serious charges that can have accused motorists staring at not only the loss of their driver's license and significant financial fines, but even years in jail. Luckily, if you've been charged on any of these counts, you don't have to face them alone — nor should you.
